Zhen Chen

Zhen Chen is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in China. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Physics, CAS, followed by postdoctoral work at Monash University and Cornell University. Before joining the Institute of Physics, he was an associate professor at Tsinghua University. His research interests include the development of new electron microscopy techniques, especially 4D-STEM techniques. His group also focuses on applications of advanced microscopy techniques in functional materials, such as oxides and 2D materials. He has published more than 50 papers, including those that broke the Guinness World Records for image resolution (twice). He has been awarded as postdoctoral awards by M&M Society of America, Microscopy Today Innovation Awards, and Innovators under 35 (China) by MIT Technology Review.
