David Baddeley

Senior Researcher, Auckland Bioengineering Institute, New Zealand

David is a physicist working in the field of super-resolution optical microscopy. He received his doctoral training in Physics at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, returned to New Zealand for a post-doc in the Physiology department at the University of Auckland, before taking up an Assistant Professor position in Cell Biology at Yale. Returning to NZ again in 2017, he has been a senior researcher at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute, and recently started a consulting business – Kakaruwai Scientific. He has made important contributions to the development of single-molecule switching methods, including experimental methodology, data analysis techniques, and biological applications.
