Claudio Delle Piane is a principal research scientist in the Energy Research Unit of CSIRO, Australia Science Agency. He has a broad background in geological, geophysical and geochemical characterization of sedimentary and crystalline rocks. Claudio has a degree in Earth Sciences from the Roma Tre University of Rome, Italy and a PhD from the Geological Institute of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich, Switzerland. His research activities include the acquisition and integration of diverse sources of data spanning the nano- to the regional scales related to the microstructural and geochemical characterization of rocks, the experimental evaluation of their mechanical and petrophysical properties, and the integration of geological and laboratory data to infer and quantify the effects of fluid-rock interactions on energy resource targets and potential underground storage sites for geological waste disposal.
