Pradeep Rajasekhar
Senior Research Officer, Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research
Pradeep is a Senior Research Officer at the Centre for Dynamic Imaging at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, Melbourne. He works in the Bioimage Analysis Core facility, where he collaborates with researchers across WEHI to apply image and data analytical techniques to gain insights from microscopy image data.
Pradeep completed his PhD in Drug Discovery Biology from Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2018, where he investigated the expression of key receptors and ion channels in the gut wall using microscopy and pharmacological tools. He has a background in Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering, and is originally from Kerala, India.
He is the lead developer of two software tools:
napari-lattice: User-friendly software and workflows to process lattice lightsheet data.
Gut Analysis Toolbox: Software to help characterize the nervous system in the gut (J Cell Sci (2024) 137 (20): jcs261950).
At WEHI, Pradeep has been developing solutions to streamline processing of large datasets, in the order of 100s to 1000s of gigabytes. He has also been developing workflows to apply artificial intelligence and machine learning methods at scale.
