Paul McMillan
Paul McMillan is the manager of the Biological Optical microscopy Platform at the University of Melbourne. He has over 20 years’ experience in a wide range of fluorescence microscopy techniques including confocal, live-cell, and super-resolution microscopy. His main speciality is the application of super-resolution microscopy techniques, especially in microbiology.
He is an active member of the Australian Microscopy & Microanalysis Society and is the current President of Light Microscopy Australia (2022 - onwards), having held the roles of AMMS VIC rep (2018 – 2022) and LMA Secretary (2019 – 2022) in the past.
He has been a member of the organising committee of numerous national microscopy symposia, including ACMM24 (Melbourne), LMA2017 (Melbourne) and ACMM27 (Perth). In addition, he has developed and organised a free workshop/seminar series that covers optical microscopy applications that is attended by over 700 attendees each year.
