Dr Partha Ghosal
Master in Solid State Physics from Banaras Hindu University in 1991.
Completed his PhD (Metallurgical Engineering) from IIT, BHU, Varanasi in 1996 and joined Defence Metallurgical Research Lab, Hyderabad in 1998.
Germany for one year in 2001-2002 as DAAD fellow from India, as Visiting Scientist.
Head: Electron Microscopy Group of DMRL.
Director of Advanced Materials Characterization Center (AMCC) from 2020; - which is unique and only facilities in the country.
Guided 5 PhDs and 25 Masters and more than 40 Bachelors students.
Organized/convened 17 workshop and seminar/conference.
Member, CAPSM from India from 2020 – till date
First serving member of International Union of Crystallography (IUCr) from India (2017-till date).
Elected as Fellow (Electron Microscope Society of India ), Fellow (Indian Institute of Metals) and Fellow (Telangana Academy of Sciences)
Awarded IIM-National Metallurgist of the year (Mater Sci), Ministry of Steel, Govt. of India, 2018.
Outstanding contributions in the field of materials sciences and in particular, advanced electron microscopy: 168 international publications
to his credit and 3 international patents and 1 book.
Reviewer/editor of 18 International Scientific Journal and widely travelled to US, Germany, UK, Dubai and Japan and also within country.
Contributed in 11 DRDO projects so far and contributed to the field of Nano materials and advanced materials development. Delivered more than 125 invited lectures in the country.
