Hikaru Saito is an Associate Professor at Kyushu University, Japan, and he is working on instrumental development and methodology of cathodoluminescence and EELS, and their applications to nanophotonic materials and semiconductors. He completed his Ph.D. in Science at Kyoto University in 2014 under supervision of Prof. Kurata. Following his postdoctoral position at Tokyo Institute of Technology (Yamamoto’s lab), he moved to Kyushu University as an Assistant Professor in 2015 (Hata’s lab). In 2020, he was appointed to his current position at Kyushu University (Murayama’s lab). In addition, he was a visiting researcher at Laboratoire de Physique des Solides, France in 2018. He received several scientific awards, including Kazato Research Encouragement Prize (2015), Best Paper Award from The Japanese Society of Microscopy (2016), Young Scientist Award from The Physical Society of Japan (2021), and Encouragement Prize from The Japanese Society of Microscopy (2022).
