Chuanbo Gao received his PhD degree in 2009 from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Supervisor: Prof. Shunai Che) and Stockholm University (Supervisor: Prof. Osamu Terasaki). He then completed his postdoctoral research at the University of California, Riverside (Supervisor: Prof. Yadong Yin). Since 2012, he has been a professor at the Frontier Institute of Science and Technology at Xi’an Jiaotong University. His research focuses on the synthesis of noble metal-based nanomaterials, including ultrasmall nanoparticles, core-shell structured nanocrystals, and alloy nanocrystals, for applications in catalysis and energy conversion. He has published 86 papers in prestigious international journals, including Nature Synthesis, Nature Communications, Chemical Reviews, Chemistry, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Angewandte Chemie, ACS Nano, and Nano Letters. Five papers were selected as ESI highly cited papers and three as ESI hot papers.  His research has garnered 5,879 citations in SCI, resulting in an h-index of 42.
