Anja Henss

Professor & Lab Head, Justus Liebig University, Germany

Anja Henss, who has a PhD in inorganic chemistry, heads the Electrochemistry and Interfacial Laboratory at the Centre for Materials Research (ZfM) at Justus Liebig University (JLU) in Giessen, Germany, where she is also a professor of materials science. She is part of the Post Lithium Storage (POLiS) cluster of excellence funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), contributing to pioneering research in next-generation energy storage technologies beyond lithium. Her work specialises in advanced surface and interfacial analysis, using techniques such as ToF-SIMS, XPS and FIB-SEM to investigate processes essential to energy storage, energy conversion and semiconductor technologies. Anja Henss and her team are developing in-situ techniques for real-time observation of material interfaces, providing insights critical to the design and optimisation of new materials.
